Nelson Lewis, Troy New York, heavy barrel, Target\sniper, .54 calibre gain twist Barrel, overall length 49 in, Barrel 36in, trigger pull 13 inch, Maker's name very faint on second flat also stamped on bottom flat. HISTORY - years of manufacture 1843 - 1888. Louis made gain twist barrels on Remington Barrel blanks. custom-made for PVG number one of two rifles built. Number 2 rifle is located in Buhl Idaho USA. CONDITION -- the rifle overall is in good shooting condition with a good to very good bore Barrel bluing turning to Plum. Non original front Globe sight original rear Tang sight. Putter forearm tip and heavy brass buttplate has some silver remaining. Lock and triggers function as they should - very light - percussion nipple is worn but not seized. two keepers for ramrod missing. Comes with numbered picket bullet starter. NOTE: all of the above information supplied by the consignor.
