Mukden Arsenal (Manchuria) 'Arisaka' Japanese military bolt action long rifle, 3 digit serial number,manufactured at Mukden 1937-44. Full Chrysanthemum over "Type 38". A Japanese Type 38 Arisaka rifle with a three-digit serial number manufactured at the Mukden Arsenal is a relatively rare find. The Mukden Arsenal, also known as the Hoten Arsenal, was established in Manchuria (modern-day Shenyang, China) during the Japanese occupation. Rifles produced there are considered more scarce than those made in Japan. Features blued finish, wood stock with finger grooves & curved grip, wood handguard, 31" barrel, blade front sight, folding ladder rear sight with "V" notch, floorplate release button inside triggerguard, cleaning rod under barrel, bayonet lug. Bore is dark/rough with rifling present. Retains about 70% blued finish, dulled somewhat, markings are crisp/clear. Wood is very good/sound with specks of white paint. Serial numbers 337 on receiver, matching serial "09 ending a symbol in what looks like a squared "C" on the bolt, dust cover. and bayonet lug. original brown leather sling attached. No import marks, vet bring back.
