The set shows a set of hide beaded moccasins from the Montana Crow Native American Indians and dating to circa 1940-1950’s. The piece shows an Indian tanned hide with harness leather hard soles being adorned with early glass trade seed beadwork all being sinew sewn. The tops of the moccasins are adorned with a unique and desirable Key Hole or Keyhole beaded pattern, a unique and desirable design show in such colors as medium blue, orange and black. The moccasins show a medium height ankle with original hide tie straps. The hard soles exhibit a nice foot worn patina from honest age and use, a true attribute of age. The set is in good condition with little to no bead loss. Provenance: From one of the most prominent American Indian Collections in Billings, Montana where the set was found to be an authentic example. Each moccasin measures overall 10.5”L soles by 3 5/8”W by 3.5”H ankle.
