Featured in this lot we have a Marlin model 39A lever action rifle chambered in .22 caliber. The rifle shows a blue'd 24" round barrel, walnut stock, full tube style magazine, and plastic butt pad. The rifle is marked on the top of the barrel, reading "The Marlin Firearms Co. - Est. 1870 - New Haven, Conn, U.S.A. - Model 39A - 22 Cal. S. L. & L.R.". The model 39A is still considered one of the finest examples of a lever .22 rifle, and one of the most accurate .22 rifles ever produced. The rifle shows good condition with some light dents in the fore grip and a little wear on magazine tube. Mechanically the rifle shows a wonderful smooth and tight action, with good functional trigger.
