Antique American made lever action repeating rifle chambered in .38-55 Winchester, manufactured circa 1897. Features a blued 26" octagonal barrel marked 'Special Smokeless Steel', dovetailed German silver blade front sight, adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight, full length magazine tube, smooth trigger, knurled hammer spur, case hardened finger lever, smooth walnut forend with metal cap and straight grip shoulder stock with crescent metal buttplate. The receiver appears to have remnants of a case hardened finish retained in the protected areas with the balance in-the-white with a browning patina mixed with light rust spots. The barrel and magazine tube display a mostly brown patina with wear, rust and approximately 15% of their blued finish intact. The finger lever bares scattered rust with some light case color patterning preserved. Action is sound, the bore is good with scattered pitting, markings are sharp and the wood stocks are good with blemishes & a small loss on the left side of the wrist. Condition is NRA Good ***Antique Firearm***
