You are bidding on a very rare early reprint of a rare two volume book, "Louden's Indian Narratives", or "A Selection of Some of the Most Interesting Narratives of Outrages Committed by the Indians in Their Wars with the White People". This two volume book was originally published in 1808. The volumes here were reprinted from the original in 1888 in a limited edition run; they are number 57 of 100. Grisly tales of torture and wars during the clash of cultures in the New World. Most are first hand accounts collected during the French and Indian War during the Mid Eighteenth Century. The books are plain undecorated dark gray cloth with the title on brown on the spine. Volume One has a loose binding with some loose pages (none missing). The second volume also has a somewhat loose binding, but no loose pages. Stamped on the inside "Library of Sup. Council. So. Jurisdiction". They measure 5.5" x 8".
