WWII era New Zealand military magazine fed bolt action service rifle chambered in .303 British, manufactured in Canada circa 1942. Features a blued finish, 25.2" barrel with integral bayonet lugs, shrouded patridge front sight, receiver mounted flip-up “L” dual aperture rear sight marked for 300 & 600 yards, two barrel bands, serrated trigger, detachable 10 round magazine, manual safety on the left side of the receiver, sling swivels, integral charge loading guide cuts in the receiver, grooved full-length wood handguard, smooth full-length forend and straight grip shoulder stock with metal trapdoor buttplate containing a polymer oiler. Matching serial numbers are found on the receiver, bolt handle, magazine and forend. The left side of butt socket is marked “N[arrow]Z/638/5L1954” and the left side of the receiver is marked “No 4 Mk I*/LONG BRANCH/1942”. Rifle retains approximately 60% of its blued finish showing scattered wear/thinning and a small amount of scattered rust. Action is smooth, the two land bore shows good luster & rifling with minor pin prick pitting and the wood stocks are good+ with many blemishes. Condition is NRA Good. ***C&R Firearm***
