Lewis & Clark Bicentennial Framed Print
In this lot is a framed print from the U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation of a photo by Perry Backus. The photo is of a reenactment of the august 1805 meeting of Lewis and Clark with the Shoshone at the site latter to be know as Fortunate Camp. Had it not been for this meeting and the help of the Lemhi Shoshone, the expedition would have been stopped. Instead with 29 horses and a Shoshone guide they left their canoes and proceeded on. The print has shifted in it frame but both print and frame appear to be in good condition. The print measures approximately 33" X 22" and the frame measures 26" X 38".
