Japanese cobalt blue porcelain large dish. A museum copy of a dish from the 1700s. The cobalt blue glaze is the Dutch influence. The Dutch were the sole traders with Japan in the 1700s and they taught the Japanese their blue-glaze ceramic style. Visual design is Japanese with Phoenix bird and sea waves. Width: 12". Depth/ Thickness: 1 1/2". Artesian craftsman handmade with signature in Kanji Japanese characters on the back.

Please note that "ABSENTEE" or "PROXY" bids take priority over live bids in all situations. In the event of a tie in the bidding, the winning bid will awarded to the proxy bidder in all situations.
