Early 19th century smooth bore percussion fowler, approximately .70 caliber. The gun is in good overall condition with a 36” barrel with a full-length brass tipped ram rod. The barrel has gone entirely to a brown patina with two British proofs at the front ring. The side plate is marked, “WARRANTED” and includes scroll engraving. The trigger guard and butt plate are done in brass. The smooth wood stock is in good conditionshowing genuine age and wear with mars and compressions. A nice, early fowler dated by the consignor at circa 1800-1820. Est.: $600-$1,200.
