Colt Single Action Army Revolver Exhibition engraved and silver inlaid with incised carved ivory grips in .38 special caliber with 7 ½” barrel, blue finish with gold trim, S/N 121944. Post WWII re-barrel andcylinder. This elaborate Colt shows nicely cut scrolls with flush silver inlay and eagle on the left recoil shield along with ramshead on loading gate. We have seen a couple of similar engraved art works thatwere brokered by Hy Hunter who provided fancy arms to the western movie stars of 1950s and 60s. This colt shows black powder patent dates and matching frame, back strap and trigger guard. Fine as restored with 99% blue finish showing all the gold on front of hammer and trigger and no evidence of firing. The action is tight and the bore is excellent. We would estimate over $10,000 to replicate using early single action and costof extensive engraving, inlay and grips. Includes vintage wood and glass display case. A vintage showpiece in any collection. (Antique) Est.: $5,000-$10,000
