Colt Model of 1911 U.S. Army semi-auto pistol, .45 caliber, Serial #420248. The pistol is in fine overall condition. The pistol retains the majority of its blue finish with high point edge wear, muzzle wear and some loss of finish on the slide noted. The checkered wood grips are in very good condition with small mars, compressions and a lanyard ring on the butt. The bore is very good, the markings are sharp and the actionis crisp. The right side of the frame is U.S. property marked. The lot includes a Colt factory letter confirming the listed features and indicates the pistol was shipped to the United States Government at the BushTerminal, Brooklyn, New York on August 19, 1918 as part of a shipment of 10,000 guns.
