Colt Model 1895 .41 Cal SN: 146542
Double Action Revolver with a 4 ½” barrel, factory nickel finish, made in 1900 with factory letter and police type leather holster. This revolver has documentation that it was taken from a trio of bandits in 1927 by Sheriff O.C. Williams of Holbrook after the robbers shot Sheriff Maxwell. Period newspaper accounts recants the interesting story. Documenting letter from the descendants of O.C. Williams who gave a slightly different account of Maxwell’s assailants than the newspaper. 50%-70% original nickel remains with aging and some loss. Minor rust and erosion. The bore is worn but the action is tight. A rare opportunity to obtain a Colt used in documented Arizona gunfight Jan 27, 1927 that shot sheriff Maxwell. C&R Firearm
