Revolver, Single-action percussion. 6-shot. Rare civil war era revolver that was manufactured by Hoard's Armory, Watertown, NY c. 1863-64. About 2000 made, but no federal contracts were obtained. 7 1/2" round barrel. Bore , and cylinder chambers are poor/rusty. Originally Blue/case-hardened, finish is now a dull gray/brown patina. Scratches/dings, and some pitting present. Two-piece walnut grips are poor with chips, and small sections missing from both on the bottom/rear. Matching serial #'s are visible on the top of the loading lever, and bottom of frame. "Freeman's Pat. Decr 9 1862 is readable on the right side of the topstrap. The center pin latch, and pin are missing. Cotter pin holding cylinder in place. hammer action is smooth/tight, but cylinder does not rotate. Loading lever does not lock into place. Not in great condition, but still a rare Civil War era revolver. NRA Condition-Fair Antique Firearm.
