Colt Model 1862 Police .38 caliber rimfire revolver with fluted cylinder, 5 ½” barrel, nickel finish, varnished wood grips, S/N 1859 (Serial numbered in own range and sold as cartridge arm and small Colts patent on frame with no patent dates). Note: fluted cylinder cartridge arms are much scarcer than round cylinder. This revolver remains in stunning almost new condition showing 96%-99% plus soft original nickel and excellent varnished wood grips. Minor marks and scratches along with minute imperfections. Most original blue on screws. The bore is bright and this revolver shows little to no use. Contained within an original to the period purple velveteen lined Colt conversion era case. One partition moved slightly (We believe by original retailer as there is great variations to 62 Police guards with this being the largest ovoid shape). The case is near fine with minor fading and aging only. The exterior is very good plus to almost fine with slight scratches and minor imperfections.
