Custom varmint rifle made in early 1960s on Mauser 98 action in .243 super rock chucker caliber, S/N Z-22180 with dies, 3 boxes of loaded ammo and loading data from Fred Huntington of R.C.B.S. who helped develop the caliber. This rifle shows a 24” Douglas Tempkin premium barrel and is stocked in striped maple and is hand checkered in ornate pattern with select hardwood fore end cap and grip cap. This rifle is mounted with a Balvar 6 x 24 scope. The rifle was made for a local resident shooter by a maker near Akron, OH whose shop was P.E.M.’s. In excellent condition and only shot 50-100 rounds by this original owner who has made incredible shots over 900 yards at groundhogs purportedly. (Modern) Est.: $1250-$2500
