Fabrique Nationale Model FN 49 semi-automatic rifle, 8mm caliber, Serial #19382. The rifle is in very good to nearly fine overall condition with a 23” import marked barrel with a protected blade front and military tangent style rear sights. The barrel and receiver retain the majority of their flaking black military finish with scratches, mars and high point edge wear consistent with service use. The front ring is marked with the “Eagle of Saladin Crest”. These rifles were originally imported to Egypt where rifles with this crest were allegedly used by the palace guards. All visible serial numbers are matching including the stock. The smooth wood stock is in very good condition with a rack number stenciled on the butt. The butt stock ends with a steel butt plate with trap. The bore is good, the markings are sharp and the action is crisp on this rare variation of the FN 49. The lot includes one correct magazine and period military style leather sling. Est.: $900-$1,800. (C+R).
