Stunning and early Colt Single Action Army Revolver in .45 Colt caliber with a 7 ½” barrel, U.S. marked and condemned, sold on civilian market after shipment to J.P. Moore’s & Sons, New York, New York on March Lot Title 3, 1874. In first 100 sold after Military contracts (5 guns in shipment), S/N 1221. This fine single action retains 75%-85% original bright blue on the barrel with full height front sight and early italic barrel Lot Title address showing no break to the “A”. 50%-70% original blue on the cylinder with index line and bright blue in flutes. Correct early ejector rod housing, spring, and donut head with matching barrel number. U.S. marked Lot Title early frame showing 60%-80% rainbow case hardening that’s vivid where protected and colorful all over. The backstrap and trigger guard show 60%-80% bright original blue. The grips are excellent with 95% plus original Lot Title varnish. The hammer shows early knurling and 85% case colors. Tight action and bright bore.
