Remington New Model Navy revolver in .36 caliber percussion, S/N 45. Finely New York style engraved probably by L.D.N. (Nimschke) with Tiffany style etched cylinder and original ivory grips. Pictured on page 48 of Lot Title “Remington, America’s Oldest Gun Maker” by Roy Marcot and page 56 of “The Guns of Remington” by Madis. The original silver has gone to a dark patina with a good amount of silver still retained but completely Lot Title unpolished and in it’s natural as found antique state of condition. Some minor wear and slight pitting but generally good to very good overall. The engraving is of deluxe quality. The grips are very good and genuine Lot Title to the period and to this specific gun showing only slight patina with minor cracking. Good action and good interior. The cylinder scene shows a mounted hunter with his dogs. A well-known Remington with superb Lot Title provenance. Note: With modern “Bob Allen” display case with restored accessories. (Antique) Est.: $3500-$7000
