Winchester model 1894 rifle, .38-55 caliber, 26” round barrel, full magazine, rifle butt, serial #813219. The rifle remains in very good plus to near fine original condition showing 90-95% original blue on barrel, somelosses at muzzle and edges, with still very bright blue, crisp, with sharp markings. The original magazine tube shows 90-95% original bright blue, the frame shows 60-80% original blue. The forend cap shows 40-60% originalblue, the buttplate shows 60-80% blue. The lever and hammer show traces of case hardening going to patina. There are some scratches and light erosion on the frame, nothing serious. The bolt shows most of itsoriginal bright finish as does the loading gate. The wood is very good plus with even handling and loss of finish, some minor scratches, excellent wood to metal fit, just normal aging. The action is tight, markingssharp, bore bright and very good plus to near fine. An exceptional 94 in the most desirable caliber. Dr. Sterling Fenn collection. Est: $1,500 - $3,000
