US model 1836 style flintlock military pistol, originally .54 caliber smoothbore flintlock, now converted to percussion with flat lockplate and no evidence of military inspections on wood. The metal surfaces showsome light to slightly heavy pitting and erosion. The heaviest areas of pitting on the right edge of barrel. Stocks are very good plus and show good edges, some small losses, and appear to have never been cartouched. The hammer shows light engraving and it is possible that this was an overrun and sold on a commercial basis. There is a significant crack in the forend from the front edge of the lock extending up to the barrel. Good tovery good overall. Est: $600 - $1,200
