Two German Bolt Action Rifles A) WWII Nazi Waffenwerke Bruenn  dou/ 42  Code Model 98 Bolt Action Ri
This is an example of a K98 rifle manufactured by Waffenwerke Bruenn, A.-G., Werke Bystrica in 1942. The top of the receiver ring is marked with a waffenamt proof over "dou / 42", and the left side with the Nazi firing proof and the serial number. The left side wall is marked "Mod.98" and the left rear of the barrel is marked with a Nazi firing proof. The bolt assembly is un-numbered, the floor plate is mis-matched (1326) and the remaining visible numbers match. All milled parts, hooded blade front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters and mounted with a mis-matched one piece pistol grip laminated stock with matching handguard, cupped buttplate. Except for the serial number on the bottom, the stock is unmarked. Complete with a mismatched "43asw" (Horster, Solingen) code bayonet with a smooth wooden handle and metal scabbard, slotted cleaning rod, and replacement tan leather sling.

Condition: Fine as assembled. The rifle retains 50% faded blue finish with thinning on the barrel and bolt handle. The floor plate has a smooth brown patina and the bolt shows minimal usage wear. The stock is very good with some scattered minor nicks and dings. The scabbard is good with a couple minor dents. The bayonet and sling are excellent. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.

B) Waffenstadt Suhl Deutsches Sportmodell Single Shot Bolt Action Training Rifle
The Deutsch Sportmodell was a popular training arm with the Nazis in the pre-war years. Blade and tangent sights, with "1935/ Waffenstadt/ (crest)/ Suhl" on the chamber, and "Deutlahes Sportmodell" on top of the barrel with "ROECHLINGSTAHL" on the left side. Caliber and model markings on the barrel. In addition, both the barrel and receiver are stamped with a "crown/B" and "crown/U" proofmarks and the serial number. Blade front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 200 meters. Mounted with a smooth one piece pistol grip stock with a flat buttplate and matching handguard. Complete with a brown leather sling.

Condition: Refinished with 95% blue finish remaining. The breech end of the barrel and bolt handle show some thinning. There is some minor oxidation on the receiver and trigger guard. There is some minor pitting under the finish on the forward portion of the barrel and on the receiver. The stock is good with a few deep scratches and overall a few minor dents and dings. The buttplate is a bit ill-fitting on the toe and heel. The markings are highlighted in white and remain clear. The action is fine.
