The lot features a set of fully top beaded moccasins from the Lakota Teton Sioux Native American Indians and date to the first to second quarter of the 20th Century. The moccasins show an Indian tanned hide with a sinew sewn construction having period correct glass trade seed beadwork and Great American Bison Buffalo parfleche rawhide soles. The beadwork shows a geometric motif pattern in a desirable bright color that display very well. The set shows overall very good condition for their age with some bead loss and signs of wear and use. The soles show an excellent worn patina, a true attribute of age and use also. The Lakota Sioux also referred to as the Teton Lakhota Sioux are a Lakota Speaking people from the North Dakota, South Dakota and Southern Montana region. The Lakota Sioux are one of the most notable of the 19th Century tribe in North American Indian history with such notable person such as Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, Red Cloud, Black Elk and Spotted Tail. The moccasins measure 4" x 10.75". Circa 1900-1960.
