75% Fully Assembled commissioned in 2010 but, never put into operation and lin covered storage and located at Cigar Lake Mine Site in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada

The same unit they had in operation drove through a mixture of easy to medium geology in 4 tunnels (170 m each)….specifically clay-rock mixtures at the low end (5-10 MPa strength) and medium hard competent rock with no fractures at the higher end (60-80 MPa strength). The cutter wheel had both drag bits and cutter discs to deal with the varied ground conditions/strengths. (Note: hard rock mines can be >150MPa).

The rock type and strengths continually varied along the length of the tunnels and our TBM went through all above ground types with no problem at an average of 5m a day (likely a bit slower in hard rock, and faster in soft)

The TBM used both rotation (i.e.: 400kW) and thrust off the concrete rings to provide cutting power to the rock face.
