Smith & Wesson First Model Hand Ejector (“Triple Lock”) DA revolver, .44 S&W caliber, 6.5” barrel, blued finish, checkered wood grips, S/N 232, in modern wood presentation case. This revolver is in overall goodun-cleaned condition showing an even dark patina to metal surfaces with scattered areas of pitting, dark bore, working action, mostly visible markings; grips are well worn. This lot is accompanied by a hand writtennote signed by Joanne Hendry Neubauer and reads “My uncle was Harry George Stephenson and the S and W 44 caliber revolver was owned by his father who was the deputy sheriff in Anahuae, Texas which is in Chambers County.Anahuae is located near the gulf coast southeast of Houston. My great uncle died when he was thrown from his horse while on duty. He was a deputy in the late 1880 I was told”. (C&R). Est.: $800-$1,600.
