This exceptionally rare stainless steel barreled Winchester Model 1895 Sporting Rifle was manufactured in 1929 and chambered for the potent .405 W.C.F. cartridge. The stock has a crescent steel buttplate and the forearm tip has an ebony inlay. The Redfield front sight has an ivory bead. A factory blank is fitted in the rear sight dovetail and a windage adjustable Lyman WR-WT rear sight with folding aperture is mounted on the left side of the receiver. The left side of the barrel is roll stamped: "-STAINLESS STEEL - 405 W.C.F." in one line between the rear sight dovetail and the receiver. The top of the receiver has a matted finish and Winchester oval "W/P" proofmarks are stamped on the top of the barrel and receiver. The elongated, two-line, Winchester legend and patent dates are roll-stamped on the left side of the receiver. "MODEL 95/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK REG.U.S.PAT.OFF & FGN." is roll stamped in three lines on the upper receiver tang and the serial number "422750" is stamped on the lower tang.
