Indian military bolt action single shot shotgun originally chambered for the .410 Mk 1Z cartridge, but appears to accept modern .410 shells. Rebuilt in 1949 by R.F.I., utilizing an 1941 production Indian made SMLE No 1 Mk III rifle. Features a blued finish, 25.2" barrel, raised patridge front sight, shrouded tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 yards, attached Australian 1907 pattern barrel with scabbard & shortened 12.5" blade, metal nosecap with protective front sight ears, serrated trigger, wood filled magazine well, manual safety on the left side of the receiver, tan canvas sling, charge loading bridge on the receiver, full length smooth wood hand guard & forend, and straight grip shoulder stock with brass trapdoor buttplate. The right side of the butt socket is marked '[crown]/GRI/ISHAPORE/1941" & "Sht L E/III" and the left side is market ".410/RFI/1949" Serial numbers match on the receiver, bolt handle, rear sight, nose cap and forend. Rifle exhibits approximately 98% of its blued finish showing light edge wear and some finish loss on the rear sight shroud. Action is smooth, the bore is pristine and the wood stocks are near fine showing old repairs. Condition is NRA Excellent ***C&R Firearm***
