This lot shows two authentic original early Plains Native American Indian beaded tabs. The tabs both show exceptional beadwork and date from the late 19th century to early 20th century. The tabs would have adorned a Plains Indian War Club, Tomahawk, or other artifact. Both show Indian tanned hide construction with all early glass trade seed beadwork. The first has a sky blue, and chalk white base with accents of butterscotch yellow and dark blue beads. The second piece shows a chalk white base with butterscotch greasy yellow, dark blue, sky blue, semi-transparent red, and red white heart beads accenting throughout. Both show a geometric design typical of pieces from this era. Provenance: From the personal collection of renowned collector and foremost expert on war clubs and tomahawks, Mark Francis. The Francis collection piece has been authenticated and verified. The larger piece measures 2.5" x 5.5" and the smaller one is 2" x 4.25".
