Pair of saw handle dueling/target pistols signed T. J. Mortimer St. James St. (London) Maker to His Majesty the pair are cased in an old associated box. The pair measure 16-1/2" overall with 9-1/2" barrels of approx. .52caliber rifled. The pair remain in good to very good original condition showing considerable traces of original brown and case hardening on the locks with some light cleaning long ago and most of their damascuspatterns still showing on the barrels. The pair are double gold banded on the breech. They are nicely engraved, even for Mortimers. The stocks have been lightly cleaned and refreshed. The triggerguards have beenreblued as have the mounts. The original ramrods are retained. The pair are contained within an old box that shows reconfiguration to the lining to accept this pair. The lining has an American look and is old and in fairto good condition but not the quality of a British case. The case contains a mold, flask, combination mallet/driving rod, loading rod, cap tin, balls, one compartment cover with bone pull, and key. The exterior
