Marilyn Monroe Douglas Aviation Norma Jean 1st Appearance 1946 Ad
Before Marilyn Monroe was "MM", she was, of course a simple girl named Norma Jean. And under that name she did start to do some modeling work. This is one of the very first paid jobs she ever had "in the business" while still Norma Jean. Even though she is wearing her natural hair color, you will recognize her instantly as the young woman passenger sitting at the "window seat" on a Douglas DC-6. Shortly after the first Douglas Airview issue in January 1946, Douglas began running this full color oversize version in some of the major magazine for only a few issues, which makes it extremely rare. This is the original ad from 1946, not a reprint. It is in NM condition. (Approx. 10"x13").
