Lot of four; one well marked A. D. Ladley, sub inspector, shows R. Nece maker’s mark, nipple pick retained, sheepskin missing or removed to be used as cartridge box in the frontier era. Condition is good to very good, also a Civil War cap box inspected by R. White, manufactured by S. H. Young, Newark, NJ, in very good condition with sheep skin and pick. One unmarked Civil War cap box, pick retained, loops retained, sheepskinmissing, good condition. One Civil War cap box with brass ID plate, showing inspection marks, and name penned in lid, “J. P. George”. Note inside identifies the plate to W. H. Smith, Brooklyn, inspector J. C.Miller, and purchased at Gettysburg Battlefield from at the Horse Soldier. A nice lot. Dr. Sterling Fenn collection.
