Lower the tang sight, and flip the globe sight down, and you can use fixed iron sights. The receiver and barrel show a blue'd finished, contrasted by a beautiful walnut butt-stock. The rifle is marked in numerous spots, starting with the top left of the barrel, reading; "J. Stevens A. & T. CO. - Chicopee Falls, MASS. U.S.A. PAT. SEPT. 6. 1864". Overall, the rifle shows good operable condition, with 80% + finish, and a strong bore, with good rifling. The barrel does show some subtle darkness. This rifle qualifies as an Antique firearm.
