For your consideration in this lot is a J. Stevens A. & T. CO., Ideal Number 44, Falling Block Rifle, chambered in 25-20. The firearm originates from as early as 1896, until 1916. The rifle uses a blue'd 26" partial octagon barrel, and a case hardened receiver. Contrasting the beautiful finish is a walnut fore-grip and butt-stock. Lastly, the rifle utilizes a semi-buckhorn adjustable rear sight. The rifle is marked in numerous places, reading; "J. Stevens A. & T. CO. - Chicopee Falls, MASS. U.S.A. PAT. APR.17.94" on the top of the barrel, "25.20" on the left side of the barrel, and "57718" on the barrel in front of the fore-grip, and on the under-tang. Overall, the rifle shows good condition, with a smooth action, and 80% + finish. The rifle shows a strong bore, with healthy rifling.
