Interesting early double-barrel barrel cartridge shotgun with side release lever, hinged action, with nickel plated over brass two-piece hinge, American styling, 12ga, 28-3/8” barrels, 44-3/8” overall. Lightly engraved locks with gold inlaid panels on each side that may have shown an original maker’s name or inscription at one time. The barrel shows remnant of a Damascus pattern and there is a light engraved maker’s name that we cannot quite read, but the last word may be “Phila” for Philadelphia. No numbers, proofs, or visible markings. Wide lined walnut checkered stock in American styling, fair condition, with some pitting and erosion on barrels, loose on the action, stock shows normal dings, mars, etc. The locks are working, bores are slightly rough. An interesting early break-open shotgun of a design we have not encountered. Would be interesting to research. Est: $250 - $500
