Longtime guide outfitter Andy Hagberg of Hagberg Guiding has provided a unique adventure for this year’s auction. This 1:1 black bear hunting trip is also an opportunity to train your hunting dogs. Andy has been guiding for over 40 years, hunting with hounds for 20 years and training bear and cat hounds for seven years.
This spot-and-stalk adventure will take you by foot, ATV, and truck into Andy’s guide territory in north central BC. During this 10-day hunt, it is not unusual to see the dogs tree up to six black bears. Many international clients find Hagberg Guiding’s dog training program valuable because it allows them to circumvent the challenges of limited training seasons abroad. For 10 days, you will be part of the team at Hagberg Guiding, learning the art of training dogs and maintaining a hunting camp, your experience does not end once you harvest your bear. An additional dog can be included for $500 CAD. Non-hunters may join you for $150 CAD per day.
Accommodations for this trip will be a travel trailer at the base camp or wall tents in the spike camp, which is equipped with hot showers and cookhouse where meals will be prepared for you. Trophy field preparation and transportation of your trophies to the taxidermist in Prince George is included. Licences, tags, royalties, CITES and HPF are not included. The cost of bringing your dog from Vancouver to Prince George is not included.
