Finely Etched and Gold Accented Parade Polearm Head
Measuring 12 1/2" tall from tip to base, the head is of the ranseur profile, with a double edged central blade measuring 6" and a central body at the base with a pair of 4" long forward projection spikes. Both sides of the base and spikes are etched with engraved accents and gold wash, showing elaborate crowned coats of arms on each sides, along with a double headed eagle on one side and stands of flags and a village scene on the reverse. A set of four holes is present in the base section, possibly for hanging banners or ribbons. The support arms are 14 1/2 inches long and 1/2" wide, secured to the shaft with 4 rivets.

Condition: Fine, with a small amount of pitting on the blade, and a mixed gray patina on the bright sections. The base and spikes show 90% of the original gold, with a brown patina forming. A ding is visible on one side of the blade near the base, and one of the base holes has a crack extending from it. 50% gold wash remains on the support arms, which show a rough patina.
