Offered for bidding in this lot is a Navajo Native American Indian Ganado pattern wool rug. the Ganado style of weaving was established by Lorenzo Hubbell in late 1800. The motif generally consists of one or more stepped diamonds or stepped and embellished triangles. The rug shows a predominantly soft salmon red background, showing alternating rows of polychrome crosses, and dominated by geometric diamonds. The rug originates from the early to mid 1900's, between 1910-1930. Overall, the rug shows good condition, with some very slight insect damage. The rug measures 52 1/2" x 77 1/2".
