This lot features a pair of early Mexican Cowboy black leather chaps. The chaps have a striking handmade design with custom leather work. The pair date to the early 19th century. They are in good condition. The rare set show a Shotgun style leg with cushion sewn design and long fringe. The legs also show a very unique and rare forged iron clasp (one leg have a bar with a swivel hook and a slide and the other has an opening that allows the hook to catch and a button that slides up the opening). The leg attachments are unique and of excellent craftsmanship for such an early age. Measures: 40" L x 8" W
