Colt Model 1878 Double Action Revolver in Scarce 32-20 Caliber
Manufactured in 1903, this is one of only 970 Model 1878 revolvers having been chambered for the .32-20 WCF cartridge. The top of the barrel is marked with the short two line Hartford address, the left side is marked "32 W.C.F." with the circled Rampant Colt on the lower left side of the frame. The full serial number is marked on the butt just ahead of the lanyard ring, the partial number "403" is marked on the rear cylinder face and the loading gate is marked with the assembly number "103". Blade front and frame notch rear sights, all blue finish and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top.

Condition: Fine. The revolver retains 40% original, (mostly thin), blue finish mixed with smooth brown and gray patina. There is some minor pitting on the cylinder. There are several minor dings and scratches on the frame and the hammer screw head is marred a bit. The grips are excellent with a few minor dings and handling marks, and crisp checkering. The cylinder does not lock up, otherwise the action functions. The markings are clear.
