Colt 1860 Army revolver, .44 caliber percussion, 8” barrel, 4-screw cut-for-shoulderstock variation, serial number 27984 – made in the early Civil War era. The revolver remains in original good to very good condition showing a light grey brown patina finish with some faint traces of blue and case hardening mixed in. The metal surfaces are fairly sharp with just some light pitting and erosion. The barrel address is crisp and well defined. The cylinder shows approx 30-50% light scene with engagement dates fully visible on the edge. There are some nicks on the edge of the wedge and around the wedge port area. The gripsare good with some weathering and even wear, a couple small chips, but fit impeccably and are generally good overall. However, no cartouche is visible. The pistol shows large “C” inspections. All matching visible serialnumbers, tight action, bright bore. Dr. Sterling Fenn collection. Est: $1,750 - $3,500
