A. Francotte 12ga full sidelock shotgun marked Von Lengerke & Detmold, US Agents, NY on 30” barrels. Double triggers, automatic ejectors, blue and case hardened finish, select checkered walnut stocks, squaredpistol grip, nicely floral and scroll engraved, serial #28942. The left bottom sideplate shows signature A. Francotte Maker and Patentee Liege Belgium (in English). The gun is choked Improved Modified (left) andCylinder (right). The stock measures 14-1/2” from the front trigger to the end of the wood, 14-5/8” to the end of the pad. The gun remains in near fine condition showing excellent old refinished barrels andrefreshed wood which is reworked to a European standard. The bores are fine to excellent and the gun locks tight. The frame shows 30-50% original case hardening drifting to silvery grey with some faint casehardened tones. The stocks show a satin finish with refreshed checkering and some slight handling since its excellent restoration which is hard to detect. European sidelock guns are prohibitively expensive on
