Very high quality 18th century center hammer flintlock pistol with silver mounts marked Hadley, London. Measures approximately 12 ½â€ overall with 5 1/8” 3 stage cannon barrel and ringed muzzle. Approximately .62 caliber smoothbore. Silver mask butt with small British hallmarks. Also silver plaque at the wrist engraved, “J of F and K” intertwined. Silver wire inlaid stock. The lock and frizzen are deeply chiseled and engraved. The metal is very good with light cleaning. The stock is also very good with 75% wire inlay remaining (25% approximately missing). The silver butt cap is missing the top end that was inlaid into the stock and needs restoration to silver there. Working but spring slightly weak. Hadley was a top tier London maker and we would place manufacture about 1730-1760 in American colonial era when many such pistols were carried to America. (Antique) Est.: $1400-$2800
