Marlin Model 1893 lever action rifle, .38-55 caliber, Serial #B5464. The rifle is in very good overall condition with a 26” octagon barrel with a silver knife blade front and standard rear sight. The barrel and full-length magazine retain nearly all of their blue finish with the barrel marked, “SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL”. The receiver shows toned case hardening on the bolt with the remainder going to grey patina. There is old pinpricking pitting on the tang behind the hammer. The smooth wood stocks are in good condition showing moderate wear and use with mars, compressions and some oil staining. The butt stock ends with a smooth steel crescent butt plate that is slightly proud at the toe, with areas of light pinprick pitting noted. The bore is good, the markings are sharp and the action is crisp. Est.: $600-$1,200. (C+R).
