Smith & Wesson Third Model Hand Ejector revolver, .38caliber, Serial #29048 The pistol is in very good overall condition with 5” barrel. The pistol retains the majority of its thinning blue finish with holster wear at the muzzle and loss of finish on the cylinder. The caliber markings on the barrel appear to have been refreshed during the period of use. The hammer and trigger show muted case hardening. The smooth wood combat grips are in very good condition showing light handling marks. The bore is good, markings crisp and action good. The pistol includes a Smith & Wesson factory letter indicating that the pistol was originally shipped April 27, 1927 to Wolf and Klar of Fort Worth, Texas in .44 caliber. It was subsequently re-worked in January of 1947 and converted to a heavy duty model in .38 Special at that time. The lot includes the factory letter as well as correspondence with Roy Jinks regarding the pistol. Est.: $700-$1,400. (C+R).
