Colt Single action Army Revolver in .38 caliber with a 5 ½” barrel, blue finish, ivory medallion grips, factory engraved, shipped to Thomas N. Steele, Nov. 28, 1930, 1 gun in shipment no address listed, S/N Lot Title 354435. The butt shows initials “V.N.” in original engraving and the pattern may be Rudolph Kornbraith as the consecutive S/N 354436 is listed as Kornbraith engraved and shipped to western movie star “Buck Jones”. Lot Title The subject revolver retains 95%-98% original blue on the barrel and cylinder with only slight losses at the high points. The front sight is its full height. The frame shows 60%-80% case hardening with good rainbow Lot Title starting to tone slightly. The straps show 95% plus original blue with tulip type engraving pattern similar to known Kornbraith engraved single actions. The medallion ivory grips are fine and fit impeccably. Bright Lot Title blue on small parts and screws. Most of original case hardening on the hammer. Excellent action and bore. Very few Colt .38 specials were factory engraved in pre-war era.
