Accompanied by a Colt factory letter confirming all features; sold to W.J. Brown,address unavailable, shipped to A. F. Shapleigh Hardware Company, St. Louis, Missouri on April 14, 1898, one gun in shipment. In overall very good to near fine condition with considerable original bluefinish mixed with brown patina to barrel assembly and cylinder. Considerable original case colors mixed with silver toning to frame and hammer. The bore is very good and the action is crisp with sharp markings andvery good hard rubber grips. The front sight has been replaced by what appears to be an old period replacement utilizing a silver coin. The pistol may be researchable given one gun in shipment through A.F. Shapleigh to an individual likely from the St. Louis area. Est.: $4,000-$6,000.
