18BL-8 SAMUEL NOCKFine Cased double barreled side by side percussion pistol by Samuel Nock, approximately .46 caliber, Serial #NSNV. The pistol is in very good overall condition with 5” octagon barrels with full-length rib. The barrels have gone to a brown patina with small mars and scratches but sharp edges. The side plates are marked, “SAMUEL NOCK LONDON” and nicely engraved, as are the hammers and trigger guard. The pistolfeatures a steel swivel ramrod and double triggers. The finely checkered wood stock is in very good condition with only handling marks and a blank escutcheon plate behind the tang. The pistol is cased in a beautifulwood case with green velvet interior. The case includes a cleaning rod, screwdriver, caps, lead shot and a James Dixon & Son, Sheffield brass powder flask. The case is in good condition with a trade label in thelid and blank brass plate on the top. This is an outstanding example of a fine London maker circa the mid-19th century. Est.: $5,000-$10,000.
